Alerting Devices
SPECIAL LIGHTS linked electronically to doorbells, telephones, alarm clocks, and alarm systems (e.g., smoke detectors) can be used as alerting devices. Some schools use them, and they are very common in homes where there is someone with a hearing loss.
VIBRATING BEEPERS AND ALARMS are now available and are very popular, especially among deaf and hard of hearing teenagers. These too can be linked electronically to doorbells, telephones, alarm clocks, and alarm systems such as smoke/fire detectors.
