Email Assistance: Families can reach out with questions at raleigh@ncbegin.org.
Educational Resources: Information on hearing loss, IDEA, and family supports is available on our website.
January Highlights
Winter Ear Health
Cold weather, seasonal illness, and moisture can affect ear health and hearing devices. This month’s newsletter shares practical tips for keeping ears healthy, protecting devices, and creating supportive, communication-friendly environments during the winter months.
Read Your World Day
In recognition of Read Your World Day on January 29, 2026, we highlight inclusive children’s books that reflect diverse experiences and promote representation. Featured titles explore self-advocacy, communication, and connection for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Upcoming Community Events
January includes multiple opportunities to engage with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. The North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is hosting events statewide, and the Family Support Network of North Carolina is offering workshops and trainings for families and caregivers.
