November is Microtia and Atresia Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating children and families who navigate life with these unique hearing differences. At BEGINNINGS, we want to take this opportunity to honor the strength, resilience, and love that each family brings to their journey. If you’re a parent of a child with microtia or atresia, know that you’re part of a wonderful, supportive community, and you’re not alone.

Raising a child with hearing loss comes with navigating unfamiliar medical, communication, and educational landscapes. Early intervention services can support your family and your child’s journey can be filled with opportunities for growth, connection, and success. In North Carolina, there are numerous resources available to guide and support families through this process.

The NC Walk4Hearing event will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, NC. Registration opens at 10:30a.m.; there is a stage presentation at noon and the Walk begins at 12:15 p.m. All ages are welcome!
